Peak Performance - 10 Minute Ritual to Prime Your Day
My morning peak performance ritual normally usually goes for about 1-2 hours depending on when I get to bed and wake up and what I have on during the day.
Although, sometimes I simply don’t have time for a full set of morning rituals.
But there is almost always time for 10 minutes. If I don’t have time for 10 minutes then I don’t have time for life.
Or as they say in eastern medicine if you don’t have time for 30 minutes for meditation then you need to do 3 hours.
So what does a Peak Performance Priming look like in 10 minutes?
Below is a 10 minute – 3 Step Peak Performance Priming ritual which you can do anywhere anytime.
Step 1 – Prime the Physical (3 Minutes)
Get yourself present and back into your body by going outside.
Feeling the wind and sun on your face, looking up at the clouds or the blue sky.
Listening to the sounds around, birds, wind in trees, ocean, dogs barking, the sounds of the city of the town.
Just tune into your auditory, vidual and kinaesthetic senses for those three minutes.
Also start to focus on gratitude for these things and practice deep heartfelt and soulful gratitude for all the beauty (people, places, things, experiences) in your life.
You can do this gratitude as a radiation out from your yourself and moving out through you family and close relatives to friends, colleagues etc.
Step 2 – Prime the Meta-Physical (3 Minutes)
Then put your entire focus on the being connected to the presence of your spiritual self, (your soul, god, the universe, your sub-conscious), and feeling the healing of this inner presence.
Imagine and feel this connection healing everything in your body, mind, emotions, relationships, finances and business.
It has the infinite intelligence to solve anything that needs to be solved, fueling the strength of your conviction, willpower, grit and determination to solve anything that needs to be solved.
You can also do this with a deep breathing pattern where you focus on the breath going in and down (for 2 seconds) and then up and out of your body (for 2 seconds) cleansing everything.
Pause for 2 seconds at the end of the breath and repeat.
Step 3 – Prime the Meta-Physical (3 Minutes)
In the last 3 minutes focus on the #1 priority that you need to achieve during your day, the #1 thing you must complete (this needs to be linked to your top 3 goals for the year).
There are no excuses not to do 10 minutes everyday. The highest performers will never miss a day even if is only 10 minutes.
If the busiest people in the world can find 10 minutes everyday, so can we.
Discipline equals freedom.
